everything you need to know about the collective
Answers to the questions you all ask the most.
the kula vs school of yoga
The Kula includes our online yoga membership platform and our in-person yoga retreats. We aim to make these offerings available for all-levels, all ages, all genders, all interests – just, all.
The Collective School of Yoga focuses on educational workshops, immersions, teacher trainings and continuing education courses. These are open to anyone who is interested in deepening their knowledge of yoga for their own practice, for those who wish to teach, and for current teachers.
retreat vs training
Yoga retreats are open to all, and they emphasize play and adventure. Our retreat schedules are full, but everything on the itinerary is optional so that you can create your own experience. Bring a friend, partner, family member, or join alone! We offer excursions available in the area such as boat adventures, hiking, surfing, wine-tasting, sound baths, cooking classes, etc. We practice yoga 1-2x per day with additional yoga workshops, and there is free-time built into the schedule for your own exploration or rest.
Teacher trainings are educational offerings, meaning that excursions and free time are minimal. Our time is spent engaging with the yoga material and curriculum specific to that training. All hours must be attended in order to receive the certificate associated with the training. Some of our trainings also include an online component to complete the course hours. Our Trainings are Yoga Alliance certified.
the kula
There are new class uploads into the Kula 3x per week – typically M/W/F. There are 500+ classes that already exist in the Kula library, which you have access to for as long as your membership is active. Classes range in length, focus and difficulty level so that there is sure to be a class for exactly what you need each day.
skill levels
The Kula Membership library has classes suitable for all practitioners and in a variety of class styles, paces, focuses, and challenge levels. We aim to help yogis dive deeper into their practice, which means that we do share challenging, creative, expansive classes – but also have plenty of class options for anyone just starting out.
Retreats are meant to be available and accessible for all! We do suggest that attendees take class with Nicole online prior to registration, just to become familiar with her style. Modifications are always given during practices. Some of our retreats include activities such as hiking, surfing, etc. We will be clear in our languaging for each retreat if you should have a specific fitness level to join those adventures, though we always seek to make them available to all. As a reminder, all retreat activities are also optional.
Our Yoga Teacher Trainings are meant for those who already have a foundation in their yoga practice and are looking to deepen and expand their knowledge. We suggest that you have 1-2 years minimum of regular practice prior to attending. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions about this!
trainings & retreats
We offer a new lineup of yoga retreats and yoga teacher trainings each year, and we are creating brand new offerings frequently. We typically open registration for the next year’s retreats sometime around November, but occasionally add in other retreats, trainings, workshops, etc throughout the year. Make sure to join our mailing list and follow along on Instagram @thecollectivekula for all of the details on our upcoming offerings and availability.
cancellation
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but please note that all payments made towards our retreats and trainings are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your attendance, we may be able to transfer you to a different retreat or training on a case-by-case basis. This is only possible if we are able to refill your cancelled space. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your attendance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and find a solution that works for everyone involved, but ask that you only register if you fully plan to attend.
